Why Art is my Religion.
I’ve never been a religious person, but a while ago a thought came into my mind…
I had been making music and writing stories for years and that creative process has been not only my own personal temple, but a sort of connection with the spirit world, I came to realize that my music and stories were guiding me towards ideas and knowledge that I would otherwise never encountered, the only thing needed to receive these messages was very simple… to keep quiet.
Friends often make fun of me while I explained to them that for years my biggest challenge has been to think less (and feel more).
It was during one of these quiet moments that I remembered a phrase from the bible, “God made Man in his own image, in his own likeness”
To me, that meant that if we were made to resemblance God, we must too, be creators ourselves, but not only that but, to be truly aligned with God, we must create in our own image and likeness, in other words, our creations must reflect who we are and our own uniqueness.
Since then, I’ve believed Art=God, whenever I’ve strayed from my creating stories and music I’ve felt it, the profound darkness, as opposed to this feeling of just being on the right track, of being aligned with the universe.
